John Riggins to Promote Travel to Africa
Riggo Fans Can Enter to Win an African Safari!
WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 4, 2011 – Ethiopian Airlines has joined forces with John Riggins, the legendary running back for the Washington Redskins, for a campaign to promote travel to Africa along with the airline’s new Boeing 777 service. Riggins, the MVP of Super Bowl XVII and a passionate outdoorsman, hosts a successful radio and internet sports talk program, The John Riggins Show.
From today through the end of February, listeners and viewers will be able to enter The John Riggins Show Safari Sweepstakes at the show’s website (http://www.riggo44.com). Riggins will be promoting the sweepstakes on MASN TV in a seven-state area, and on MASN satellite, WTOP HD3, and streaming at Riggo.com
The lucky winner and guest will fly on Ethiopian Airlines nonstop to Addis Ababa, the airline’s home base, and then on to the plains and natural preserves of Kenya for an eight-day safari adventure. The safari portion of the trip is being provided by Great Safaris, a luxury expedition company specializing in travel to Africa.
This promotion comes on the heels of Ethiopian Airlines’ recent delivery of new Boeing 777 LR aircraft, which have the longest range of any commercial aircraft. The new aircraft save passengers nearly three hours in non-stop service from Washington Dulles International Airport to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. From Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines provides connections to Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and many other destinations throughout Africa. Ethiopian Airlines has been serving the D.C. market for more than a decade and is celebrating the arrival of the new aircraft with special fares and vacation packages with tour operator partners such as Great Safaris.
